Yesterday it was very humid at the river , I talked to the ranger, he said that nothing exciting had happened last week, that is always good news , no fires , no floods, no water companies taking all the water out of the river, All those things happened recently to this magical place, amazingly wildlife is still surviving. the sunset was beautiful yesterday. Hopefully we will be back on Saturday.

We went to the river tonight just for pick-nick under the oak trees, afterward we walked around to look for some frogs and Lizards. Dessi found a frog and I found the tiniest little Lizard. Forget about catching them , they were fast. There are so many baby alders along the river it amazing. Dessi and speculated how the river would look like in 5o years. There would be a whole Forrest of alders. I did not bring my camera today.

Dessi and I went back to the river yesterday. It was a perfect day for a hike, we went all the way up a mountain and it was amazing to see how much of the vegetation had recovered the Station fire last year. Everything was green with lots of fuchsias and buckwheat. It was amazing to see that some trees that have completely burned recovered, there were lots of green pine trees with burned pine cones on them. There was some erosion on the trail, bi9g rocks had fallen down in the last days. I hope there wont be more of those , I am worried they might close the river again

These are stories from a creek in the San Gabriel Mountains near near LA. We spend so much time there over years that I like to dedicate a blog just for the "river"
